If you look closely you can see that the lamp actually opens up on the top for the light to escape, rather than the bottom. This is the big difference you're going to notice. The lamp in the picture is 70.5 inches tall, so that is almost 6 feet. It works with a 175 watt halogen bulb. This particular lamp comes with a dimmer switch, so that you can easily dim the light strength to whatever you want. This is great for just about any room. It's easy to dim to set the correct ambience for whatever you're doing in the room. That is the big reason I like it. The only real differences you'll notice is that the height of it will change or the particular wattage will change. Oh and I can't forget the color too.
